With funding provided by the Ontario Sport & Recreation Communities Fund, the Boccia Bratz Project: Clinical Application of Therapeutic Boccia, will develop & implement a collaborative and sustainable LTAD aligned program that will establish the inclusive sport of boccia in clinical settings as a vehicle for the development of physical literacy in children and youth with a physical disability.

Specifically, this two-year cross-sectoral project will be delivered within the therapeutic recreation programs of ten Children’s Treatment Centres across four regions of Ontario. 100+ therapists and their support staff will receive specially designed training to incorporate the concepts of physical literacy into their patient’s treatment plans using boccia and its complementary fundamental movement skills.
